Detox:Dr Dre's last album ?

Dr.Dre has confirmed that his new album ‘Detox’ is likely to be his last solo album. The follow-up to 1999’s ‘2001’, which was supposed to be out this year, will now be released in 2008.Dre has revealed he has two or three tracks left to record, saying: “I was really hoping to have it out this year, but it’s going to be pushed back a while because of some other things I’ve got to work on.”One of Dre’s other projects is production work on the new Eminem album. "We'll be trying to get his thing done and work on a few things on my own project,” he explained.Speaking to The Los Angeles Times, Dr Dre confirmed that ‘Detox’ is likely to be his last solo album, as he prefers producing and writing without the rigmarole of interviews and promotional appearances related to solo releases.“I think it’s time to move on,” he said, before calling performing “a young man’s game”.Shedding light on some of the reasons behind ‘Detox’’s long gestation, Dre said: “When I think of the future, I think of Quincy Jones. Look at the quality of his work over the years. He didn’t even make his best record, ‘Thriller’, until he was 50. Nothing pulls you back into the studio more than the belief that your best record is still ahead.”
